Case study: transport of boilers from Tornyiszentmiklós to Szolnok

Oversized transport requires serious preparation and continuous coordination. FlashCars Ltd. has successfully completed the transport of a 45 m long, 4.5 m wide and high 158 t boiler from Tornyiszentmiklós to Szolnok, overcoming a number of logistical and technical challenges.

Route planning and authorisation

The first step of the project was to plan the route and obtain the necessary permits. Due to road restrictions and road works, the original route was modified and a detour to Hegyeshalom was necessary. The permit process required daily coordination with Magyar Közút and other authorities.

Transport challenges and solutions

Due to the size of the load, some routes could not be used, such as the Kőröshegyi viaduct. For rail crossings, we received pre-arranged time windows from MÁV. We proceeded with police protection and traffic blockades, and road obstacles (signs, traffic lights) were temporarily removed.

Unloading and project closure

In order to gain access to the factory in Szolnok, the entrance was widened and the fence was temporarily dismantled. The boilers were precisely positioned using remote-controlled equipment. After successful unloading, the transport vehicles returned to the border.

Summary

The project has shown that careful planning, flexible problem-solving and close cooperation with authorities are essential for the success of oversized deliveries. FlashCars Ltd's expertise guaranteed the integrity of the cargo and the safety of the transport.

Oversized transport is not an invention of the modern world - people have been transporting huge objects for thousands of years. Just in a different way.

Among the world's most spectacular oversized deliveries is the Airbus A380 aircraft parts shipment. These huge components are transported from the factories to the final assembly plants in a variety of vehicles and logistics chains. Another famous project was the delivery of a huge steel structure for the London Olympic Stadium, which required extensive route planning and specialised equipment.
